Dreaming of a Real Spring

I woke up this morning to fog and rain.  And then the weather man made my day, there is a possibility of snow tonight.  Yes it's April 28!  Last Wednesday I had a snow day.  I am so tired of this nonsense.  So I went to Houzz (link at left)  to dream of warmer days.

Easter Review

I spent the holiday weekend with Amber and her family.  Miss L may not be a morning person.  She really loves her basket.  Really!  M.has enough excitement for both of them.

  M.  was soooo excited to open his eggs after the indoor hunt.

We went to brunch at a local country club.  The food was yummy,  M especially liked marshmallows dunked in the chocolate fountain.  Miss L liked the muffins and strawberries.

The happy family out on the porch of the country club.  It was a beautiful sunny day.

I hope your Easter was fabulous.

Our Easter Tablescape and a Fairy

Here is our beautiful tablescape, courtesy of Grandma, Mom, and M. M assembled the eggs and chicks with exacting precision.

We had some fantastic (finally!) weather today, perfect for finding faeries and blowing bubbles!

Easter Tablescapes

Yeah, remember my feeble attempt at a St Patrick's Day centerpiece.  Over at  Candy has raised it to an art form.  Here are several examples just for Easter.  And yes that is her real kitchen.  As I look over at my table in real time, there is a printer, salt and pepper shakers and an orange cat.  Sigh  . . . . and I don't mean a cute little ceramic cat.
She has 322 tableclothes on her Tablecloth Data Base page.  Yes, I said 322 . . . . tableclothes.

Gotta Love Google Translator

I love reading foreign blogs with Google translations.  I found this Finnish site at
Now its official spring, I pimp and polish my balconies.
I wont call my self as green thumb but I like fixing the tiny garden and balconies (two)
Next weeks theme is "coffee on the balcony"  Hope it doesn't rain.

I'd like a cup of coffee on that pimped out balcony, wouldn't you?

Where Have You Lived?

I found this oh so funny map at at Haley for Etsy's shop.  I love the obnoxious stereotypes!  I was born in historical landmarks and have lived in life of the party,  yes sir and yes ma'am, obesity epidemic, hot and drunk, old peepers, and last but not least, drunk lake people.  Where have you lived?

I Heart Bersa

I have been really attracted to vintage Scandinavian dishware.  I am particularly smitten  with Bersa by Stig Lindberg.  Recently I bid on a couple of pieces on Ebay and they went for crazy prices.  I found the cup and saucer at and bought it!  Isn't it sweet?
And I bought this plate too.

Now I am coveting this pitcher from
And this bowl from
And this print from Handz' shop at

I am finally getting around to decorating my office/workspace and I think the Bersa will look cool in there.

Bright Colors

I love Mallory over at and now she has a Tumblr blog called Wear Color.  She posts pretty pictures of bright clothes.  I love the vibrancy.  Northern Michigan does three seasons very well, but Spring is brown and drab and still cold.  I think that's why I am craving color.  Check her out at   Enjoy!!

Another Fabulous Online Magazine

I found this site awhile back.  There is a very cool blog, but the best part is an online magazine.  the latest issue has 372 pages!!  It has beautiful children's clothing, toys and furniture for starters.  It is so pretty to look at.  Go to and enjoy!

Whoa! I'm in Fabric Heaven

Go to immediately!  This is a site where you can create your own fabric and if you can't do that, you can buy fabric that others have created.  There are hundreds to choose from!!  You also have a choice of fabrics to quilt, make clothing or upholster.  It is a little spendy, but you will never see your creation anywhere else.  So in true Wrinkly fashion, I will buy and most likely never make.  I am a certified collector of fabric.  Well at least I recognize my addictions.

We spent Tuesday at The Navy Pier.  It was our best weather day - sunny and warmish.  The last time I was there was in the summer and it was packed.  This time around it was as if we had it all to ourselves.  No lines no waiting.  What fun!  M and Amber went through the fun house and rode the enormous Ferris Wheel.  Beansie and I strolled around and watched.
A view of the skyline looking back from the end of the pier.

Beans and M on a concrete mosaic sofa.

There is the most beautiful Stained Glass Museum at the Pier.  I probably took way too many pictures.  I couldn't help myself.  Many of them came from old churches, homes and office buildings in the Chicago area.
Here's the crew in the Crystal Palace.  It is a huge glass room with beautiful plants and fountains.

M. is digging for dinosaurs at the Children's Museum.  We got here late in the day. There was so many things to see and do.  This is a day trip all by itself.

An Extra Pic!

We. Are. Awesome. Beansie? I think she disagrees.

M and Beansie Take Chicago

Spring Break has arrived!! And to celebrate (and blow of some much needed steam) we have journeyed to the tropical oasis of Chicago. Well, we were supposed to go to a tropical oasis, but with my bum work schedule, we are managing to squeeze in some fun in Chicago while watching Ray-Ray and Pete's charming kitties. As you saw yesterday, we were pooped from our long drive, but Sunday we were ready for some fun at the Shedd Aquarium. These are my (Amber's) pics as opposed to Penny's pics you saw yesterday.

Beansie playing in the Barnacle Pond.
M in the shell pond.
Beansie in the submarine.
M taking scientific measurements.
Monday was Legoland day, with the Chicago skyline made entirely out of Legos, the little kind.
The Hancock Tower, in Lego form.
Lego tigers, oh my!
M being eaten by a Lego Hippo!!
And of course, Lego Darth Vader!
